Students and teachers at Berkeley High School have returned to class after a "suspicious smell" prompted an evacuation earlier this morning.
Berkeley County School District spokesperson Susan Haire says the fire department was called out to the school Tuesday morning to investigate a suspicious smell.
Haire says authorities determined there was not a fire or immediate threat, and the evacuation was lifted.
The school is notifying parents via the phone notification system.
