Truck filled with 50,000 eggs makes its way to Lowcountry Food Bank

A special delivery of eggs made its way off a truck and into a cooler at the Lowcountry Food Bank Tuesday morning.

In their continued effort to end Lowcountry hunger, the Lowcountry Food Bank brought in 50,000 eggs.

CEO Pat Walker says it's rare to get a shipment of eggs to their warehouse, especially a large number of them.

The shipment came from the Upstate and was locally farmed. The eggs will feed those in the 10 coastal counties the Lowcountry Food Bank serves.
The eggs have a shelf life that will last until Thanksgiving, but most of them will be shipped out in the next week.
