For the 5th straight year, Porter-Gaud and Ashley Hall met for the SCISA AAA Volleyball title on Tuesday night and for the 4th straight year the result was the Cyclones holding the trophy at the TD Arena.
But it wasn't easy.
Porter-Gaud looked like they would cruise to a straight sets win after taking the first two frames 25-18 and 25-21. But Ashley Hall came storming back to win the next two sets 25-21 and 25-16 forcing a deciding 5th set.
The Cyclones wouldn't be denied though as they took control in the final frame and went on to clinch the title with a 15-4 win.
Maggie Cochrane led the way for PG with 24 kills while Gracie Mogul chipped in 17. Tanner Renken also had 36 assists for the Cyclones.
Ashley Hall comes up short in their 16th straight time in the state title game. They've won 11 championships.
Porter-Gaud ends the season at 34-11 and wins their first state title under Head Coach Megan Parkerson.
