AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Deputies searched Richmond Academy Wednesday afternoon after a bomb threat but didn't find anything suspicious.

An unknown man called 911 around 2:17 p.m. and said that he was being held hostage, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. He also told dispatchers that a teacher was threatening to blow up the school.

The fire alarm was activated, and the school was evacuated. Deputies and the K-9 unit searched the school, located at 910 Russell Street, but didn't find anything suspicious.

The sheriff's office accounted for all teachers at the school with the help of the Richmond County Board of Education Public Safety Department.

The sheriff's office is investigating the incident as a terroristic threats and acts case.
