SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

A Summerville school teacher has been found not guilty of child abuse.

Lystra Zerba was charged with two counts of child cruelty back in February at the Summerville Montessori School of the Arts.

A former teacher's assistant told investigators she saw Zerba lock students in a dark bathroom. On another occasion, she says she saw Zerba force feed a child.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office had also charged School Director Elizabeth Cain with failing to report alleged abuse at the school.
