Cops: Woman attempts to retrieve $41k worth of marijuana from hotel

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County investigators arrested a 51-year-old Idaho woman on Thursday after authorities say she attempted to retrieve a package filled with $41,000 worth of marijuana at a North Charleston hotel.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office charged Dana Zimmerman of Driggs, Idaho with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

An affidavit states that Zimmerman had knowledge of a shipment containing 4,149 grams of marijuana being delivered to the Raddisson Hotel at 5991 Rivers Ave.

According to investigators, once the package was delivered, Zimmerman approached the front counter of the hotel and asked about the package she was expecting.

Investigators then arrested Zimmerman who was then locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

She is scheduled for a bond hearing Friday afternoon.
