HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Wreaths for Veterans will once again hold their yearly program designed to honor those veterans who have passed on.

The group is asking everyone who wants to help, even if it's just for an hour, to take advantage of the many opportunities to honor our fallen.

Volunteers will prepare wreaths at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 at the Veterans Memorial Museum on Airport Road. Please bring scissors and gloves if you plan on preparing wreaths. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Wreaths will be placed at Valhalla Cemetery on Nov. 20 at 9:30 a.m. and at Maple Hill Cemetery on Nov. 21 at 9:30 a.m. Bring a hammer or mallet if you plan on helping place wreaths.

A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at Valhalla Cemetery on Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. Wreaths Across America will simultaneously hold wreath-laying ceremonies at over 350 locations across the world.

Volunteers will retrieve wreaths from Valhalla Cemetery on Jan. 7 at 9:30 a.m. and from Maple Hill Cemetery on Jan. 8 at 9:30 a.m.

Please consider donating any time you can to honor our fallen veterans. For more information, please call Joy Parker at 256-881-5487 or email her at joyaparker@comcast.net.
