Police: Shooting on Newson Road

Huntsville police were on the scene of a shooting late Saturday night. Huntsville police were on the scene of a shooting late Saturday night.
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville police reported a shooting at an apartment complex on Newson Road late Saturday night.

Police responded to the shooting, which happened at Winter Park Apartments on the 4100 block of Newson Road around 10 p.m.

Officers said the victim was inside his apartment when an unknown person knocked on his door. Police said that when the victim opened his front door, the person shot into the apartment, hitting the victim in the arm.

The victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital by HEMSI with a non-life threatening injury.

No one has been arrested yet. The offender left the area before the police arrived.
