    Pete Ambrose chose to hear the bad news first.Late Monday, the farmer and owner of Ambrose Farms on Wadmalaw Island got wind of a $1092 citation issued by The City of Charleston, for advertising signs he posted on city property.The signs read, U-Pick Strawberries and list a phone number for Ambrose Farms. CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A new memorial was dedicated on Veterans Day to South Carolinians killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than 100 state residents have died in the two wars.

The black granite memorial is near the US 17 bypass in Murrells Inlet. The  Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Murrells Inlet raised money for the monument.

There were also several events across the Lowcountry paying tribute to the men and women who have served, and those still serving our country.

Patriots Point kicked off its Veterans Day celebration Monday morning on the USS Yorktown which included a performance by the US Naval academy women's glee club.

The City of North Charleston also hosted a tribute to veterans that started at the Felix Davis Community Center in Park Circle.
