Sunny skies to boost Tuesday afternoon temps

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Live 5 Meteorologist Justin Lock has your Tuesday forecast:

We will have one last day of mild sunny weather before a blast of arctic air pours into the Lowcountry overnight tonight and through Wednesday. A WIND ADVISORY is in effect from 7pm tonight until 5am Wednesday.

Today, look for a mostly sunny and mild afternoon with a high of 72° inland and 69° on the beaches. Winds will generally less than 10 mph.

Tonight, big changes occur after sunset. Cold air begins to pour in late along with a strong north wind that could gust to 40 mph at times overnight. Wind chills by Wednesday morning will fall into the 20s across Charleston, the metro and the rest of the area.

Tropical Storm formation not expected and tropics are staying quiet. The season ends at the end of the month and we will continue to monitor.
