NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A program in South Carolina designed to provide help for those who take care of the elderly is getting a boost.
Lt. Gov. Glenn McConnell and officials from Verizon are scheduled to be on hand in North Charleston on Thursday as the Trident Area Agency on Aging receives a $20,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation.
The money will be used to help support Connecting Caregivers.
That's a secure online resource that provides access to discussion forums, training, and virtual support groups for caregivers through the agency's website.
