Auburn faces tough Northwestern State

(RNN) - Northwestern State at Auburn

Auburn will try to notch its second win in an 8 p.m. ET home game against Northwestern State on Friday, Nov. 15. The Tigers overpowered Nicholls State by 22 points in the season opener.

The Tigers got good play out of their guards.

KT Harrell had a career high 21 points and Chris Denison added 20 while point Tahj Shamsid-Deen, starting as a freshman in his first college game, led with four assists.

Asauhn Dixon-Tatum had a career high eight boards and blocked four shots.

Northwestern is coming off a home win against LeTourneau and is on a brutal road trip. After the Auburn game, they travel to LSU the next night. Auburn paid the Demons a little extra to move the game from Thursday to Friday, hoping to attract a bigger crowd because the football team plays Georgia on Saturday.

NSU was 23-9 last year and lost in the NCAA tournament to Florida, 79-43. The Demons have not beaten an SEC team in eight straight tries.

They play everybody on the team, usually, playing two five-man rotations and subbing in another two or three players along the way.
