Mother hopes for justice three years after son's murder

RAVENEL, SC (WCSC) - Salina Robinson says she doesn't come to her son's grave often. She says it's just too hard.

"I woke up this morning, and the hurt was just still there."

Friday marked three years since Robinson's only son, Rasha Porter, was shot and killed during a home invasion on Branton Road off of Highway 17 in Ravenel. Investigators believe the killer kicked in the front door and opened fire. Porter's two daughters were also in the home, but weren't hurt. Robinson says she still tries to make sense of a senseless crime.

"What makes me mad and angry about the whole scene is because he was in his house, in his bed sleeping, and they took his life. They took his life in front of his two little girls."

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says the case is still open, and investigators are working several leads.

"If anybody out there knows anything that happened to my son that night, please just call the police department, let them know."

Robinson says she will keep trying to accept what she does know.

"Three years later here I'm still standing for my son to come home, and I know he's never coming back."
