CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a 26-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist in critical condition earlier this week.
Katherine Anne Mosson was arrested Friday morning and charged with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury/death and improper lane change.
Authorities say the incident happened at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday on Saint Andrew's Boulevard near Colony Drive where a bicyclist, identified as 29-year-old Terrell Wright, was struck by a car as he was traveling northbound on the bicycle lane.
Police say the vehicle then fled the scene leaving a part of the car behind. Investigators say based on the part left at the scene, the driver was in a 2003-2007 4-door charcoal grey Honda Accord.
Officer say Mosson was driving a 2005 Honda Accord EX that was registered in her name.
A police report states the vehicle sustained damage to the front passenger side quarter panel.
"I would hope they would find it within their heart to come forward because it would be the right thing to do," says Ivan Wright, Terrell's brother.
Wright's family says Terrell has some swelling in the brain and was put on a respirator Monday.
