Security guard, woman injured in North Charleston night club shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Police are investigating a shooting at North Charleston night club that injured two people early Friday morning.

North Charleston police tells us two people were shot at Blue Magic night club around 2am Friday morning. Authorities say one victim was shot in the leg and the other in the hip.

While officers were enroute to the scene, they were told that a female victim along with a club security guard had been shot. Investigators were also told that a burgundy Dodge Stratus was seen leaving the area and was possibly the suspect's vehicle.

Responding officers say the security guard had been shot in his left calf. The victim said it all started when he and three other security guards were shutting the club down, and escorting everyone out due to a large physical altercation.

The victim said when he and the other security guards stepped outside with the crowd, he heard shots being fired and was struck in the leg.

A police report states no one was on scene was able to provide a description other than the suspect was a black male since there was a large crowd of about 900 people leaving the area and running in opposite directions.

The female victim was located at Trident Hospital.

The club is located between Dorchester Road and Ashley Phosphate.
