AMHERST, OH (WOIO) -

Amherst Police are searching for a man who beat a McDonald's employee while trying to rob the store.

Thanksgiving evening officers were called to a North Leavitt Road McDonalds for a theft.

When they got there they found a 22-year old man in the restroom. He had been hit in the head several times by an unknown male.

The victim fell to the floor and while dazed says the suspect was able to take his wallet from his rear pocket. There was no money in his wallet at the time of the robbery.

The suspect is described at a black male approximately 40-years old.
