ATHENS, GA (RNN) - Georgia scored in the opening minute and never trailed in their home game against Chattanooga, soundly defeating the Mocs 87-56.

The Bulldogs (3-4) outscored Chattanooga (3-6) in field goals, making half of their shots while the Mocs made only 19 of their 64. Chattanooga, however, had better luck with free throws and 3-pointers, making 11-of-18 free throws and 7-of-19 3-pointers. Georgia made 14-of-23 free throws and five of their 18 3-pointers.

Georgia kept Chattanooga to only 17 points in the first half, leading 47-17. The Bulldogs then scored the first seven points of the second half, giving them the largest lead of the game. Georgia outscored the Mocs 40-39 in the second half.

Nemanja Djurisic led the Bulldogs with 14 points, and Kenny Gaines led with four assists and two blocks.

Georgia gets some time off before hosting the Lipscomb Bisons on Dec. 14.
