Stratford Set To Face Northwestern In State Title Game

WHAT: Stratford (12-2) vs. Northwestern (14-0) in AAAA Division 2 State Finals

WHEN: Saturday, December 7th, Noon

WHERE: Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, SC



Stratford will be making their 3rd appearance in the State finals and their first since 2004 when they face off against undefeated Northwestern. The Knights are looking for their first title since 1999. 

Ray Stackley's team will be led by Quarterback Jacob Park, who's committed to play at Georgia next season. Park has thrown for over 3200 yards and 28 touchdowns on the season. The Knights are also loaded at the skill positions with Jordan Johnson (12 touchdowns), Tyree Scroggins (11 touchdowns) and Thad Thompson (9 touchdowns). 

Northwestern will provide a huge challenge to Stratford however. The Trojans come in undefeated at 14-0 and are considered one of the top teams in the country. Quarterback Mason Rudolph, who's committed to Oklahoma State, has been almost unstoppable this year throwing for close to 3900 yards and 56 touchdowns. Rudolph has 2 big time targets he's been throwing to this year. Senior Quadarius Fair has over 1300 yards receiving and 24 touchdowns while junior Dupree Hart has almost 1400 yards receiving and 22 touchdowns.
