Second show added for Dave Chappelle at the PAC

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It appears Charleston cannot get enough of Dave Chappelle.

The comedian responsible for one of the most wildly popular sketch comedy shows to ever hit television will now play two shows in North Charleston next week.

Already set to hit the North Charleston Performing Arts stage on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m., a second, same-day show has been added for 10 p.m. following enthusiastic demand from fans in the Lowcountry.

Tickets for both shows are now on sale.

A longtime stand-up comic and actor, Chappelle hit the big time in 2003 with the sketch comedy series, Chappelle's Show. Although only lasting two seasons before Chappelle abruptly walked away from the series in 2005, the quotable show was a massive success.

"This show came about much quicker than most," said Alan Coker, Marketing Manager for the PAC.

Coker says the Chappelle's promoter called Monday to ask about availability for next week. After receiving dates, it was confirmed Tuesday the comedian would perform on December 10.

"We are thrilled to have Dave Chappelle back at the PAC, as it has been ten years since his last show here," Coker said. Chappelle last played at the PAC on May 8, 2003.

Prior to Chappelle's Show, the stand-up comic acted in a number of movies, including Con Air, Half Baked, and Blue Streak.

Tickets for the show are $55 plus fees. Tickets can be purchased at the Coliseum Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or at
