Emergency crews put out apartment building fire in Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Emergency crews have put out an apartment building fire in Charleston.

Officials with the North Charleston Police Department say crews responded at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday to a structure fire on 1819 Clements Ave.

Responding firefighters reported smoke showing from the one-story apartment building. The fire was controlled in less than 10 minutes by responding firefighters.

Authorities say one family was displaced, and there were no injuries.

The Charleston Fire Department also responded to the incident.
