Prior to turning pro, he skated four seasons at Northern Michigan University totaling 84 points (35 goals, 49 assists) in 146 career games.
On behalf of Cherniwchan, a case of pucks will be donated to a South Carolina youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 29,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
The Stingrays wrap up a six-game road trip on Friday, December 13 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday, December 14 to take on the Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. on College Night and Teddy Bear Toss benefiting Debi's Kids.
The Stingrays will wear special Clemson University jerseys and auction them LIVE after the contest. Charleston native and "Survivor: One World" finalist Chelsea Meissner will drop the ceremonial first puck. Bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to the game to throw on the ice after the Stingrays score their first goal for the annual Teddy Bear Toss!
