ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (WYFF) - A woman's body has been found under a mobile home in Anderson County, according to Anderson County Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman.
Sheila Cole with the Anderson County Sheriff's Department said someone living at the home on Amy Street, near Highway 29 south, called 911 Tuesday about 2:45 a.m. about a body at the home.
She said deputies confirmed a body was under the mobile home at 10 a.m.
Boseman said the body is decomposed and mummified. He said he believed the body had been there for several months.
Lisa Adams said she lives at the home and called 911 when she found the body.
Adams said a man had moved out of the home in February and she and a friend were cleaning the man's room because there were rats and bugs. She said while cleaning the room she found the body.
"We stepped in a hole when we moved his mattress and box spring and I got a flashlight and I saw a foot and a leg and I ran like hell and we called the law," Adams said.
A missing person's report was filed in 2012 for a person who listed their address as the home where the body was found.
The report said the person had not been seen since July 2011. Investigators say they are looking into the report.
Chief Deputy Charlie Boseman said there is no power to the house and the person living at the home is using kerosene heaters to stay warm.
