COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Three men have been sentenced for their roles in running an illegal gambling business in Columbia.
A federal judge handed down sentences for Brett Parker, Jack Parker and Douglas Taylor Wednesday morning.
Brett Parker was sentenced to 24 months in prison. He will serve that time while in prison for the two life sentences he received for killing his wife and business partner.
Brett's father, Jack, will spend five months in community confinement, five months on house arrest and pay $3000 in fines and fees.
Douglas Taylor was sentenced to three years probation. He will spend the first eight months of his probation on house arrest.
The men were convicted in September of running a gambling operation which prosecutors said collected thousands of dollars a day.
Brett Parker killed his wife, Tammy, in April 2012, and tried to frame it on Bryan Capnerhurst.
Parker testified unsuccessfully that he shot Capnerhurst after the man came into his home, quickly killed his wife, then demanded money.
