CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County deputies say a 41-year-old West Ashley man has been arrested in connection with three burglaries.

Stephen Jake Huggins was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of second-degree burglary.

According to Charleston County Sheriff's Office incident reports, Huggins is responsible for breaking in to two West Ashley businesses on December 16.

Deputies say Market Street Munchies and Euro Foods were both broken into around 9:15 p.m. Officials say Huggins stole nearly 20 pounds of treats and money.

In both incidents, the front glass doors of the stores were shattered, deputies say.

Officials say Huggins previously broke into Euro Foods on October 10 of this year.

A report states the front glass door of the business was smashed and money was stolen from the business.

Huggins is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
