Cops: Driver viciously attacked while waiting at stoplight on Daniel Island

DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police say a 19-year-old man used brass knuckles to viciously attack a man, who had a relationship with his girlfriend, at a stoplight early Thursday morning.

Investigators arrested Brian Peterson Fluder and charged him second-degree assault and battery.

Police say the incident started when the victim was in his car at a stoplight on Daniel Island.

According to investigators, a car driven by Fluder then pulled alongside the victim's car.

The victim told police Fluder then got out his car and approached the victim's driver side window.

A police report states that when the victim rolled down his window, Fluder stuck the victim five to six times in the face and head. The victim said Fluder used brass knuckles in the assault.

According to the victim, Fluder then got back in his car and drove off.

The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital where he received 14 stitches and seven staples for the injuries he sustained in the incident.

Investigators say Fluder had just recently become aware of a relationship between his girlfriend and the victim that happened several months ago.
