CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A 43-year-old cook accused of running over a man at a restaurant parking lot was given a $500,000 bond on Friday.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office charged Chang Lin with attempted murder.

Lin's charges stems from an incident in September at the Mr. Hibachi restaurant on 9585 Hwy 78 in Ladson.

An affidavit states the victim was asked to leave Mr. Hibachi, where Lin works as a cook, because he was arguing on his cell phone and disturbing the business.

According to investigators, as the victim was walking outside, Lin, who was driving an SUV at the time, struck the victim in the legs and torso causing the victim to be thrown against a parked vehicle.

Witnesses stated that Lin deliberately struck the victim. Court records state Lin then left the area.

The victim was transported to the hospital with a broken pelvis and an injury to his shoulder and legs.
