A Sumter man was arrested early Sunday after authorities say he robbed a string of convenience stores in Sumter and Clarendon Counties.
Bryan Kenneth Hodge, 29, was arrested and is facing several armed robbery charges.
On Saturday the Sumter County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed robbery call at the Young's Market located at 3120 Highway 15 South, and within 30 minutes deputies responded to second armed robbery at the Town and Country store located at 4210 Highway 15 South, said Lt. Robert Burnish with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
Hodge was identified through video to be the suspect involved in both armed robberies, Burnish said.
Early Sunday morning, authorities received information that Hodge was involved in third armed robbery that occurred in the City of Sumter, Burnish said.
Hodge is also facing charges in Manning where police say he entered a Sav-Way store located at 10 Winfield Street in the City of Manning armed with a butcher knife and held an employee of the store at bay while making off with an undisclosed amount of cash and a carton of cigarettes.
Hodge was arrested after he wrecked his vehicle during a chase with police near Alcolu in Clarendon County.
