Police investigating downtown Christmas Eve shooting

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police are on the lookout for those involved in a downtown shooting that left one person injured Tuesday night.

According to police, the shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. on Homel Place in the area of Maverick Street. Authorities say several officers responded to the scene, but were unable to locate a victim or suspects.

Police say after 30 minutes officers were called out to MUSC where a 31-year-old man arrived with a gunshot wound to the left forearm.

Investigators are trying to determine to the cause of the shooting and to identify a suspect.
