Bond set at $150K for alleged gas station armed robber

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Bond has been set at $150,000 for a man who police say confessed to robbing a North Charleston convenience store at gunpoint earlier this week.

The North Charleston Police Department arrested 52-year-old Arnold Lee Anderson after he confessed to robbing the Circle K at Dorchester Road and Montague Avenue on Christmas Eve.

Authorities say the suspect went to the checkout line with beer, a battling toy robot and cigarettes, when he pulled out a gun from his waistband and demanded cash.

Police say the clerk handed Anderson call the cash out of the register and he also grabbed the bags containing the items that he brought to the counter.

Investigators were able to located Anderson after receiving tips. Police say he confessed to the robbery.

Anderson is scheduled to have a bond hearing Saturday.
