Robber holds up Sonic on Murfreesboro Road

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police are searching for an armed robber who caused a big mess at a south Nashville Sonic overnight.

Police said the thief shot open a door at the restaurant on Murfreesboro Road. He held up the two employees inside and ran away.

A similar robbery happened at the Sonic a few months ago. Police aren't sure if those two cases are related.

According to police, the suspect was a black male around 5'10" or 5'11" and weighs between 150 to 155 pounds. He wore a black ski mask covering his face with a blue latex glove on his left hand and possibly a white latex glove on his right hand. He was wearing a black-colored hoodie, black-colored sweat pants with white shoes and was armed with a small, black-colored semi-automatic handgun.
