CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Two people were taken to the hospital early Tuesday morning following an accident on Interstate 26. Traffic is moving again in that area after a portion of the road was closed while authorities responded to the scene.
According to Charleston County Dispatch, the one-car accident happened around 3 a.m. on I-26 East near the Dorchester Road exit. Dispatchers say the interstate was shut down because of an ejection from one of the vehicles.
Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and North Charleston firefighters responded to the scene. Two people were taken to MUSC by Charleston County EMS for their injuries. There is no word on their condition.
Traffic was shut down for about 2 hours, but lanes were opened back up around 5:30 a.m.
