Charleston police reserve officer accused of criminal sexual conduct

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say a Charleston police reserve officer has been arrested and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The Charleston Police Department arrested 44-year-old Christopher Colin Ward of Indian Corn Drive.

Ward was locked up at the Berkeley County Detention Center, where he is scheduled to have a bond hearing on Friday at 7 p.m.

Authorities say the incident reportedly happened on Dec. 3, 2013 in Ward's home.

Police say Ward was a reserve officer for five years with the Charleston Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing.
