One dog killed in mobile home fire in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Emergency officials say residents at a mobile home were able to escape a fire, but a dog perished in the blaze.

North Charleston Fire Department officials say the fire happened at a home on the 2600 block of Carter Road just before 8:30 p.m.

Responding firefighters reported the single wide trailer was fully engulfed in flames and smoke. It took more than 10 minutes to contain the fire, according to a NCFD press release.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the American Red Cross has been called to help the family of two.
