ATLANTA (AP) - Forecasters say Georgia and much of the region will face sub-freezing temperatures and wind chills as low as 15 degrees below zero early this week.
The National Weather Service has issued wind chill and freeze warnings throughout much of the state as a severe winter weather system moves into the region.
Temperatures are expected to be below freezing in many areas on Monday and Tuesday, and forecasters are expecting overnight lows to drop into the single digits.
City of Atlanta officials have said crews would be dispatched early Monday morning to pre-treat potentially hazardous and high-traffic areas. Airport officials are reminding travelers to check with their airlines or the airport website for updates on delays and cancellations.
