CPD Installs a secure drop-box for unwanted medications

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NAAI) and The Conway Police Department have announced that they will be installing a secure drop-box for any unwanted medications.

This drop box will be located at their main police headquarters, at 200 Laurel Street, and it will available 24 hours a day, and seven days a week.

Individuals can anonymously dispose of any unknown capsules or tablets, unwanted over-the-counter medications, veterinary medication, and unwanted prescription medication. The public will not be allowed to bring the following items to this drop-box location:

• Medical waste of any type

• Aerosol cans

• Needles

• Syringes

• IV bags

• Thermometers

• Bathroom or personal care products

• Any type of chemicals

• Non-medical over the counter items

    Charleston police officers are crediting a concerned citizen for four arrests on Tuesday morning.A department spokesperson said they received a tip about several men with handguns along Norman Street at around 1am.After a responding officer tried to pull over a vehicle with several males inside, the men fled on foot.
