Cops: Pantless man arrested after asking woman, girl for directions

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a 28-year-old Moncks Corner man is behind bars after he was caught twice wearing no pants or underwear as he asked a woman and a girl for directions.

On Monday afternoon, a Charleston police officer responded to the area of Murray and Ashley boulevards in reference to someone exposing themselves.

The victim, a 30-year-old woman, told police that at 12:15 p.m. a man, later identified as Lionel Smalls, drove up to her and asked for directions to Colonial Street.

The victim told police that as she was giving Smalls directions, she noticed Smalls was not wearing any pants, and his genitals were exposed. According to a police report, when the victim told Smalls he wasn't wearing any pants, Smalls said,"I never wear pants."

The victim then told him he "should consider it" and walked away.

A police report states officers located Smalls in a car on Concord Street, and arrested him.

Investigators were then notified of another indecent exposure that happened in the area of the Harris Teeter in downtown. The juvenile victim said she was walking towards Harris Teeter when she was approached by Smalls in a car asking for directions.

The victim said as she was talking to Smalls, she noticed that he wasn't wearing any pants and his genitals were exposed. The victim quickly went to Harris Teeter, and saw Smalls leave in his car.
