GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Goose Creek Fire Department say a house fire in Goose Creek Wednesday night was caused by a meth lab explosion.

Berkeley County Sheriff's Office officials say the incident happened on 32 Aldene Avenue off Red Bank Road.

Witnesses told deputies they saw two people, a man and a woman, flee from the scene after the house fire.

Investigators arrested the man, identified as 21-year-old Justin Wright, who had two warrants for his arrest on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and larceny.

According to authorities, no connection has been made whether Wright had something to do with the house fire, which deputies are calling suspicious.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the fire.

Sheriff's office officials say the woman seen leaving the home has not been identified.

No injuries were reported.
