WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- A woman from Wilmington is starring in a Spike TV reality series about hunting Bigfoot.

Shaney Warehime of Wilmington is being featured on a show called the "10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty".

In the show, Warehime and a partner will compete against other teams to track down Bigfoot.  She said the show was filmed this past summer in various locations across the United States.

Warehime explained the premise of the Bigfoot hunt.

"It's DNA.  That's ultimately what you're trying to find," said Warehime.  "They also want some sort of picture evidence pretty much you got to drag bigfoot in, take a picture of him, and grab a piece of hair."

Warehime said the contestants would win $10 million if they actually found the creature.  She said the whole experience was a lot of fun.

"It was fun.  I got to travel to some of the most beautiful parts of the country.  I got to meet some really cool people," she said.

The series will air Monday nights starting January 10 and will be 8 episodes long.
