BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Robbers in Clarkton got away with prescription medication and about $20 Friday night, while the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for two gunshot wounds to the leg.
According to the Bladen County Sheriff's Office, the victim told authorities he heard a knock at the door around 9:00 p.m. When he answered the knock, he saw a man standing in the doorway holding a gun.
Chief Deputy Rodney Hester said a struggle ensued, and the victim was shot twice in the right leg. The victim was then tied up and the house was ransacked.
According to Hester, the victim reported a second man went into the home and tied up another person who was in the kitchen when the shots were fired.
Hester said the victims were able to get free and call 911.
