GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said one of five people has been arrested after assaulting three people and firing shots after the group was kicked out of a Greenwood Waffle House restaurant.

Greenwood police said they were called to the restaurant on Bypass 25 Northeast on Jan. 4 at 4 a.m. after five people were kicked out of the restaurant and there was a report of someone possibly being shot.

When officers arrived, they said they learned no one was shot but several shots had been fired into the air.

According to the police report, the five suspects entered the diner and were "very loud and boisterous," so one of the employees told them they needed to calm down or leave.

One of the group became upset and threw a chair over the counter, almost hitting another employee, police said. That's when the group was told to leave and one of the workers followed them outside to make sure they left, police said.

While outside, Taylor Gable, who was one of the suspects, shoved the employee in the chest, police said. Another victim placed herself between them and Gable went to punch her, the report stated. Police said a third victim tried to intervene, but he was pushed to the ground by the group and they began to kick him.

Gable, 22, then pulled out a gun and fired several shots into the air, then the group got into an SUV and left, police said.

Police said they were able to review surveillance of everything that happened and signed warrants for Gable's arrest. The victim who was kicked was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.

According to the police report, Gable was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery by a mob and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Police have not released any other details about the other suspects involved.
