NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The City of North Charleston is set to announce a new community program to help build communication between the public and law enforcement.
The Citizens Public Safety Academy Program will be unveiled Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the North Charleston Police Administration building.
The 11 week program will give the public a behind the scene look at what police officers, firefighters, code enforcement officers, and building inspectors do on a daily basis.
Graduates of the Citizens Public Safety Academy Program will receive a diploma, academy T-shirt, and class photo.
The academy will be held during the spring from February to April, and again during summer from May to July.
Participants must be 20 year of age or older, and must have no prior felony convictions.
