NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are working to locate the driver of vehicle involved in a Wednesday morning hit-and-run that sent a 6-year-old Windsor Hill Elementary School student to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officials say the child was walking to his bus stop with a group of friends on Windsor Hill Blvd. and Aspen Woods Lane just before 7 a.m. when a vehicle jumped the curb and hit the victim. The vehicle then left the scene.
Troopers say the vehicle has been described as a silver or gray mini-van or crossover type SUV. It is unknown if the vehicle was damaged in the incident.
MUSC spokesperson Tony Ciuffo said Wednesday night the child is in serious condition.
