School officials said it felt like Christmas in January.
Wednesday, students at Cainhoy Elementary/Middle in Berkeley County stood in awe as volunteers rolled in sixty brand new Dell computers.
It started last April when Cainhoy School officials were in search of a grant to help update the school's computer lab. Together with the Daniel Island Community Fund, nearby business Nucor Steel Berkeley answered the call.
"The more we can help get these kids as computer-literate, and interested in math as we can, the better they're going to be when they come to work for the Nucor team," said Nucor Steel Berkeley VP/ General Manager Giff Daughtridge.
School principal John Spagnolia said of the donation, it's "totally awesome."
