OXFORD, MS (RNN) - In a game of back and forth, the Ole Miss Rebels defeated the LSU Tigers in overtime 88-74 on Thursday night.

The game marked the return of senior guard Marshall Henderson, who was serving the rest of his NCAA suspension.

The Rebels (11-5, 2-1 SEC) started off slow and LSU took advantage of their sluggish start with a 15-6 run to open the game. But Ole Miss warmed up with the help of Jarvis Summers at the foul line and a timely Marshall 3-pointer to take the 18-17 lead.

LSU (10-5, 1-2 SEC) tied the game entering the second half with an Andre Stringer 3-pointer, giving the Tigers the lead for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Henderson warmed up and tied the game with a 3-pointer and gave Ole Miss the lead with a trip to the foul line. In overtime Ole Miss took over, outscoring LSU 19-5, with an Aaron Jones dunk finalizing the Rebels win.

The Tigers had four players score in double digits, with guard Andre Stringer leading all Tigers scorers with 23 points off the bench.

LSU shot 60 percent from the foul line and made 36.9 percent of its shots from the floor. Ole Miss also had four players score in double digits, with Henderson leading the team with 25 points in his return. The Rebels shot 81.5 percent from the free throw line and 43.1 percent from the paint.

Ole Miss hits the road and will visit the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday, with tipoff at 4:30 p.m. LSU returns home to host the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday at 9 p.m.
