CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officials say 100 acres of land on Daniel Island will be involved in a controlled burn beginning Friday morning.
According to the Daniel Island Property Owners' Association, the controlled burn will be carried out by certified South Carolina Prescribed Fire Managers beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Rhoden Island.
The one-day burn is part of a forestry land management plan for Rhoden Island, officials say.
Authorities say there may be smoke and odor in the area for the next 48 hours.
