Suspects sought for shooting into house in Colleton County

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Colleton County investigators are looking for the people responsible for shooting into a house in Walterboro early Thursday morning.

On Thursday at 3:18 a.m., authorities received multiple calls of shots being in the area of King Street and Pine Needle Road.

Investigators were then told that a house on Sheldon Court had been hit with several bullets. When deputies arrived at the home, they saw that the front window of the home had multiple gunshots through it.

The victim said she and three other people were in the house sleeping, when she woke up and heard multiple gunshots hit her home.

An incident report states a deputy attempted to speak with the other occupants of the house, but they would not provide any further information. 

Deputies say they located five rifle shell casings in the grass just off the roadway in front of the home.

Witnesses also told investigators they heard a vehicle speed off following the shooting.
