Charleston Winterfest begins in Mount Pleasant

Posted: Updated:
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina is transforming into a winter wonderland for two days of fun in the snow.

Crews have turned the Lookout Pavilion into more of a ski lodge for the adult event on Friday night. With 25 tons of snow, there will be a rail jam, lounge and dance area.

There's also going to be free giveaways. Organizers want you to sport your best winter gear.

The event starts at 8 p.m. and runs until midnight, those 21 and older can pay $10 at the door.

A second, family-friendly event is scheduled at the Lookout Pavilion on Saturday. It's from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bring the kids for some fun to the Mount Pleasant Community Snow Day.

The event includes areas to play in the snow, a place for sledding and jump castles.

Admission is $5 for Mt. Pleasant residents (with valid driver's license) and $10 for non-Mt. Pleasant residents.

A portion of the proceeds raised goes toward the Carolina Children's Charity.
