COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Windy and dry conditions are leading authorities to issue a red flag alert against outdoor burning for all of South Carolina.
The state Forestry Commission said the alert is in effect all day Saturday. The alert doesn't outlaw burning in many areas, but is an advisory that fires can easily spread.
Forecasters say winds could guts up to 30 mph and humidity values will be low, making it easier for wildfires to start.
The Forestry Commission says conditions may improve Sunday.
