Bulloch EMA: "Prepare now"

The time to prepare for severe weather is not when it starts, cautions Bulloch County's public safety director.

He advised people to get an necessary food, batteries on Monday or Tuesday morning at the latest.

"Have anything you may need for the next couple of days now instead of having to get out on the roads out of necessisity," director Ted Wynn advised.

That list included food, any prescriptions or batteries for flashlights for possible power outages.

"With the ice that we're expecting, it could be heavy enough to break limbs that could fall on power lines and the ice itself could bring down a line," Wynn added.

He anticipates rain starting Tuesday morning and turning to sleet as temperatures drop. Roads could be iced in many spots through the day on Wednesday until temperatures rise above freezing.
