Emergency responders report travel problems east of I-65

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Emergency managers in counties east of Interstate 65 are reporting travel problems in several cities.

Madison County

  • Big Cove Road is icy
  • Memorial Parkway access roads are icy at Governors Drive and University
    • If you are in the Huntsville area and you see a street Huntsville road crews need to visit, call 256-883-3950.
Marshall County
  • Albertville roads are improving
  • Main roads across county are in good shape
  • Secondary roads and higher terrain areas remain slick
  • Wythe Mountain in Guntersville is the only closed road in the county.
DeKalb County
  • All roads in the county are impassable, including:
    • Collinsville roads are impassable
    • Crossville roads are impassable
    • Ft. Payne roads are impassable
    • Fyffe roads are impassable
    • Geraldine roads are impassable
    • Hammondville roads are impassable
    • Henagar roads are impassable
    • Mentone roads are impassable
    • Powell roads are impassable
    • Sylvania roads are impassable
    • Valley Head roads are impassable
    • Rainsville side roads are impassable
  • County Road 604 has been closed from CR89 to CR137 due to icy roads.
Jackson County
  • County Road 77 is closed
  • Highway 35, 40, 79 and 117 are open, but have slick spots
